Automotive Tag & Title Clerk

George Moore Chevrolet in Jacksonville, FL, is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Automotive Tag & Title Clerk to join our dealership’s administrative team!

If you have experience processing vehicle titles, registrations, and DMV paperwork, we’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys staying organized, and works well in a fast-paced dealership environment.

As our Tag & Title Clerk, you’ll play an important role in ensuring vehicle purchases and registrations are processed accurately and efficiently while providing excellent service to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Process vehicle title applications, registrations, and license plate transactions for new and used vehicle sales.
• Prepare, review, and submit title and registration paperwork to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV).
• Ensure all vehicle title documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable state regulations.
• Process title transfers, lien recordings, lien releases, and registration renewals.
• Communicate with customers, lenders, financial institutions, and DMV offices to resolve title and registration issues.
• Maintain accurate records of title transactions and outstanding paperwork.
• Track pending titles and follow up on missing documentation.
• Work closely with the Sales, Finance, and Accounting departments to ensure timely processing of vehicle transactions.
• Assist with out-of-state title and registration transactions as needed.
• Perform additional administrative and accounting support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive dealership title clerk, tag clerk, or DMV processing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Florida vehicle title and registration procedures is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working with computers, data entry, and dealership management systems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with other departments.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Experience with automotive title processing, vehicle registration, dealership accounting, or DMV documentation is highly valued.
