For weeks I have considered what role I am called to play amid the divisive and overheated rhetoric of political debate, facebook posts, memes and more as our nation grapples with a pandemic, economic calamity, racial justice and a seeming unwillingness to listen to an opposing view. After serving in the Air Force for 31 years, it has been very tough to watch what is happening to us, the citizens of this great nation. So, I concluded that one of my roles is to write for myself and my friends.
My goal is to share the lessons of a lifetime of service and leadership, my belief in the individuals and families who comprise our country, and foundational values that have charted our paths for centuries.
Why I write
Writing fulfills a calling to be salt, to season or preserve the principles upon which we live. It answers a desire to be light, to share a view or position that may have been discarded, needs to be reaffirmed, or simply held up alongside you. And it allows me to continue my lifelong role of supporting and defending principles found in the Constitution of the United States in a non-partisan manner.
